The Madison County Master Gardener Spring Plant Sale 2019
Saturday May 4th 7:00 a.m. – Noon.
West TN Research & Education Center 605 Airways Blvd. Jackson, TN 38301 This event is a MUST for avid gardeners in the West TN area. The sale’s plant selections have been propagated from the MCMG’s own gardens and personal collections. MCMG’s are happy and eager to share GREAT plants that perform well in our area with GREAT people. Plant selections will include: herbaceous perennials, annuals, shrubs, trees, vegetables, & potted plants. For those looking for the perfect Mother’s Day gift, please browse through our Garden Art & Gift area.
The sale will also feature plant selections from the West TN Research & Education Center that have been grown by the UT Gardens-Jackson. Proceeds benefit the WTREC and the MCMG volunteer association.
Cash and Check only will be accepted as payment. This event is FREE and open to the public. We hope to see you & your neighbor & their neighbor at the SALE!
Interested in the TN Extension Master Gardener Program in Madison County?
An annual training course is held for those who wish to become certified Master Gardeners. Certification requires not only in-depth educational training, but volunteer service as well. The educational course is a series of 14 classes that cover topics ranging from Basic Botany to Plant Propagation, Vegetable Gardening, and Ornamental Landscape. After completion of the course, trainees must contribute 40 hours of service over the next year to complete certification.
Registration opens in May and closes on July 19th
2019 Training begins August 1st and concludes on October 24th. Class will be held on Thursdays 1 – 4pm at the Madison County Extension office. Registration fee is $125 and covers all class materials.

What is the TN Extension Master Gardener Program?
The Tennessee Extension Master Gardener Program provides volunteer services for University of Tennessee Extension. Certified Extension Master Gardeners are trained by Tennessee Extension professionals to provide sound, practical, research-based information to the public in the area of residential and consumer horticulture.

Who are the Madison County Master Gardeners?
We are fortunate to have a TN Extension Master Gardener Program right here in Madison County. Our organization has been active in this county for over 20 years and was first established under the guidance of Extension Agent Bill Wyatt. The group has grown in recent years to a membership of over 200 volunteers. We have over 30 official volunteer projects in the surrounding community that are organized and managed by our members. Master Gardeners make it a priority to continue their education in the plant world and share that knowledge with others.
